5 K-Beauty Trends to Look Out For in 2016
New year means new trends to discover and keep up with. With all the hype when it comes to K-Beauty and Kpop idols, it is only right that I share my take given that I have geared this blogs’ content towards Korean / Asian related topics.
2015 was a whirlwind year. We’ve had more than a few new products to try, innovative devices to play with … and trends as well as techniques to check out (even the weird ones that I can’t seem to understand – bubble nails, hairy glitter underarms, the Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge and more). As far as the K-beauty world … the following are my Top 5 Prediction that will continue to dominate and rock this year.
Pink / Pastel Hair – given that the color of the year is Rose Quartz and Serenity, we should expect and see more hair in beautiful pastel colors. From Light Pink, Lavender, Ash Blonde, Silver and even Gray (Granny Hair).
Shimmery Eyeshadow – with the rise of flashy fiber lashes last year (minus the clump) I’m foreseeing bold and glitzy eyeshadows to be a thing or two too! Most definitely featuring the pantone color of this year.
Contouring – who doesn’t want that perfectly shaped face without the need of going under the knife? We all do … especially if we can master the art of blending. Nothing permanent and the possibilities are endless.
Fierce Matte Lips – we all know about the gradients lips trend, the fabulous lip tints and the classic moisturizing lipstick … but last year “matte” have taken over and won the hearts of many. Long lasting, non-drying matte shades that will take any look to the next level.
Full Brushed Brows – every time I look back into my old pictures, I can’t help but exclaim my disapproval. Those brows aren’t fleeky in any way … and if I can describe it, I’d say it’s like it was drawn with a skinny felt tip marker. Horrifying. It is safe to assume that this trend is here to stay. For good. Brows on Fleek? Check!
